Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is used to stop the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message is sent from one email address, but to seem as being sent from a different one, usually with the objective to scam the recipient in some way. When SPF protection is enabled for a domain name, a unique record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers around the world have it. The record includes all mail servers that are allowed to send authentic messages from an e-mail address under the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it goes to checks the SPF record and when its sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the target receiver. When, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the given domain, the e-mail message won't be submitted and it'll be discarded. Whenever you employ this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam messages which look as if they have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Cloud Website Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for each domain hosted in a cloud website hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with no more than a couple of clicks. The function is available in the Emails section of our innovative Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to activate it is to select one of your domains from a drop-down menu and then type in the hostnames and the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the e-mail servers which will be approved to send email messages from your emails. As an added option you can even restrict the messages to be sent from your domain only when it includes our MX records, i.e. when our servers handle the emails for it, not a third-party supplier. This solution will give you the top standard of protection, but it's not applicable if only your website is on our servers while the e-mail addresses for the domain name are managed somewhere else. Regardless, the SPF protection service will keep your email addresses safe from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

When you host your domain names in a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you'll be able to benefit from the SPF protection feature as a part of the standard set of services that you will get using this kind of hosting. Activating the protection will involve just several simple steps in the Hepsia Control Panel, so even in case you've never used this type of function before, you will not have any kind of troubles. Using an exceptionally easy to work with interface, you will just have to type in the details of the mail server which will be permitted to send out messages from your e-mail addresses - its hostname (mail.server.com) and IP address (IPv4 or IPv6). Once the recently made record propagates, no one will be able to forge any email for that particular domain name and send out e-mails from a server different from the one you have entered. This does not necessarily have to be our mail server, still in case we manage your emails, you can allow one more level of security by choosing an option that e-mails can be send out from addresses @your-domain.com only if the domain uses our MX records. Our technical support staff will be able to help you 24/7 if you have any questions about this service.
